Accounts
- One account per person, and don’t share it. You need to be 16, or have a guardian’s OK.
- It’s free. There’s no guarantee it’ll always be up, and no guarantee any service lasts forever. If we shut something down, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice.
- We back up nightly, but keep your own copy of anything you care about.
- What you make is yours. Putting it in
~/public_htmlor a public repo lets us store and serve it, nothing more. - Leaving: run
mukto-leaveor email hello@mukto.net. Your files are deleted within 30 days.
Don’t
- Break the law.
- Attack anything: scanning, brute-forcing, exploiting or flooding any system, ours or anyone else’s. Practise security on machines you own.
- Send spam, host phishing pages or malware, or share pirated software or media.
- Mine cryptocurrency, or run anything else that burns shared CPU for profit.
- Run open proxies, VPN exits or Tor exit nodes.
- Point bots at other people’s sites.
Be a good neighbour
- Stay inside your quota (5 GB, 30 processes).
- Ask in
#opsbefore running anything heavy or 24/7, or opening a listening port.
If you break a rule
Usually someone asks you to stop. If something is harming the server or other people, an admin can kill the process or suspend the account first and talk to you after. You can ask in #adda for other members to look at the decision.
Found a security hole?
Email security@mukto.net, encrypted to ~kalbaishakhi’s key if it’s sensitive, before telling anyone else. We’ll fix it and thank you here, if you’d like. Testing from your own account is fine; testing against other members isn’t.
